A Guide to winning on Korean Music Shows for (G)I-DLE

As you all know (G)I-DLE will be having their third comeback June 26th. Here we put together a list of Korean shows with tutorials, instructions, criteria information and anything needed or required to participate in voting. 

Shows that (G)I-DLE might appear on during ‘Uh Oh’ promotion period in order [by date]. 

GOAL

Goal this period is 3+ wins. 

Voting

1. MTV SBS THE SHOW

Criteria

40% Digital Sales

10% Physical Sales

20% Youtube Views

15% Expert 

5% Pre-Voting - Unlimited

10%  Live Voting - 3 per account 

SHOW: SBS MTV The Show. Winner receives award, and billboard in timesquare for a day. 

The Show airs every Tuesday at 6:30 PM KST. All voting is done thru Starpass app [Download links and tutorial below]

2. Show Champion

Criteria

30% Digital

Melon, Bugs, Genie, Soribada

10% physical album sales

40% pre-voting

Voting period - Tuesday (8 days before broadcast)  - Sunday (3 Days before broadcast) 

20% IDOL CHAMP 

20% Genie Website 

10% Expert Score 

10% Broadcast score

(How many times a song is played on MBC Music programs)

3. M COUNTDOWN

Criteria

45% Digital Streaming/Music Score ( Melon, Genie, Mnet, Bugs) 

20% Social Score/Youtube views

15% Physical Album sales (Hanteo Chart Weekly) 

10% Global fan voting (Mnet, Mwave, Mnet Japan) 

Broadcast Score (Mnet Channel) 

SHOW: MCountdown. Winner receives award. 

- Only allows you to vote once a day.

For M Countdown it is recommended that international fans vote via the website and not the app.

To send a vote via text to M!Countdown, you need to text  여자아이들  to  +82 0082 2566. You can also vote via the website for Live show voting. 

4. INKIGAYO

Criteria

55% Digital Sales

5% Physical Sales 

35% SNS points/Social Points [YT Views, Comments, Likes, Twitter hashtags] 

10% LIVE voting 

5% Pre-Voting 

The show airs Sundays 3:40pm KST.

Step 1: Download Melon Aztalk app.

5. MUSIC CORE

Criteria

60% Digital Streaming (50%) + 10% Physical

10% Live Text Vote (Only for 1st place Nominees)

10% Video Score (YOUTUBE)

10% Committee/Panel Voting

5% Radio Broadcast Score

Music Core you must get chosen to vote. Every week MBC randomly picks 2k people. (GOOD LUCK ON GETTING CHOSEN)

6. MUSIC BANK

Music Bank voting is only available for voting to Domestic fans (KOREA).

CRITERIA

65% Digital Streaming (Melon, Genie, Mnet, Bugs, Soribada)

20% Broadcast Score - Number Of Times played on KBS TV (17%), KBS Radio (3%) 

10% Viewers choice Survey (Only domestic fans)

5% Physical album sales (Hanteo charts) 

Social Media Points

This counts on Mcountdown and Inkigayo. Social media points data is collected 13 days before the show. 

Data is collected from:

• YouTube MV views OFFICIAL AND 1THEK COUNT. 
• Twitter
• YinYueTai
• Weibo
• M Countdown performances YouTube views. [Must be on OFFICIAL MNET YOUTUBE] 

FYI: For your post to count on social media you must add their  artist's name in Korean 여자아이들 on your post. 

EXAMPLE 

Wow #Senorita will win so many awards #여자아이들 Soyeon is a Genius!

Things that count on all Music shows listed

• Physical copy sales through Hanteo certified stores. LIST
• MV streams on both their OFFICIAL CHANNEL and 1THEK (we will focus on their official channel)

Anything outside of Melon, Genie, Mnet, Bugs, etc WILL NOT count toward a music show win.
